Jotform is the broadest form product on the market. Thousands of templates, payment fields, PDF generation, approval flows, HIPAA-eligible plans — if a form has ever needed to do something, Jotform probably has a widget for it.
Breadth is a real advantage, and it comes with a real cost: the surface is large, the concepts are many, and the parts were added over two decades rather than designed together.
Mandda is deliberately narrower. It does one thing — turn intake into structured operational records that humans and agents work on together — and builds everything around that.
The core difference
Jotform's model is the form and its widgets. Capabilities attach to the form: a payment field, a signature field, an approval workflow configured per form.
Mandda's model is the submission record. A response becomes an object with versioned operational metadata — status, owner, priority, classification, decision — that every surface reads from and writes to: the interface, a versioned REST API, and a native MCP server at /mcp.
Jotform has approval workflows, and for linear sign-off chains they work. What they don't give you is a shared, structured operational state that arbitrary consumers — your own services, your agents — can read and update through a documented surface with workspace-scoped permissions.
Where Mandda differs
Agents are a designed surface, not an add-on. MCP means an agent discovers what it can do and does it, with no bespoke integration per client.
Authorization is workspace-bound OAuth. Scoped per workspace, on the same authorization path the interface uses — not an account-wide API key.
Multi-tenancy is structural. Strict workspace isolation with role-based access inside each, rather than folders and sharing settings on one account.
Explicit form versioning. Structure changes are immutable versions, and every response records which version captured it.
One plan, everything included. 14-day free trial, no credit card. Jotform tiers submissions, storage, and features across several plans, with separate pricing for compliance features.
Where Jotform is the better choice
If you need a specific capability out of the box — collecting payments, generating a filled PDF per submission, e-signatures, an industry template, or HIPAA-eligible hosting on a plan you can buy today — Jotform has it and Mandda does not. That's a straightforward reason to choose it.
Choose Mandda when
- Submissions are the start of work, not the end of a transaction.
- You want a small, coherent surface rather than a large configurable one.
- Agents should operate on the same records as your team, under the same permissions.
- You need clean multi-tenant separation with roles.
- You're building against an API and MCP surface you can reason about.
